I cannot believe my baby boy is already one month old! Time seems to fly by!
Weight: 10 lbs, 8 oz. He has gained over two lbs in two weeks!
Length: 22 inches
Diaper Size: We are currently using size 1 diapers because we have a TON of that size and ran out of newborns. While Luke could probably still fit into newborns, I like using the larger size to hold more and reduce the chance of blowouts! This kid can fill a diaper!
Clothing Size: Luke is wearing 3 month clothes for the most part, they are still a little big! He is still wearing some of the larger size newborn clothes as well.
Nicknames: Tiny Tot, Little Bit, Big Guy, Luke the Duke (thanks to PaPa!)
Health: We have been blessed with one healthy baby! We did make a trip to the ENT to get Luke’s tongue clipped this week. He had a very tight tongue (tongue tie) and while we were in the hospital, the lactation consultant said that might be an issue for nursing and future speech problems. After discussing with our pediatrician, we decided to go ahead and get it taken care of sooner rather than later. It was not a pleasant experience for me or Luke, but it is over now!
Sleep: Luke has been sleeping very well during the night. A few times this week he slept for 4 and a half hours and we had to wake him up to eat! Usually he will sleep for about 2 and a half to 3 hours at a time.
Diet: We attempted breastfeeding for a little while, but because of Luke’s tongue tie and the subsequent pain for me, pumping has been the best option for both of us. While it is more of a hassle and more time consuming, Luke is still getting breast milk and I am burning those calories (getting closer to pre-baby weight every day! 😉 ). We are also able to keep track of how much Luke is eating every feeding: on average it is about 4 oz every 3 hours!
Loves: Being swaddled at nighttime, pacifier, his auto rocker, being held, basically any type of motion (bouncing, rocking, riding in his car seat)
Dislikes: Luke isn’t a huge fan of baths just yet… Overall, Luke is a very content baby and adapts to whatever we are doing.
Other Random Things: He is very strong and is holding his head up exceptionally well.
This past month, Luke has been on 3 road trips so far: College Station, Temple, and Waco. He does so well in the car thankfully, because this family is always on the go!
