All About LipSense!

I have been wanting to do this post for so long! As mentioned previously, I have fallen IN LOVE with LipSense. I tried it once and I was hooked. I have not used any other lip product since – so I signed up to be a distributor! I initially signed up to be a wholesale customer, but my sweet friend and sponsor Karina, encouraged me to get out there and sell it. So I am!

I never in a million years thought I would ever sell ANYTHING like this but I love this stuff so much that I wanted everyone to know about it. Since I have discovered it, the LipSense buzz has exploded. SeneGence is the company that makes LipSense and has been around for over 17 years, slowly growing, adding new products and BOOM! Like out of no where this company has experienced exponential growth. It is so rare that a company reaches this point of success and I am so excited to be a part of this phenomenon. LipSense is so different from other products that there is a small learning curve to getting the hang of it…that’s why I’m here! I have been researching, asking questions, and trial and error to get these answers for you.

What is it?

It is liquid lip color that is FDA approved, vegan, gluten free, not tested on animals. It is also lead free and wax free.

What makes it so different?

LipSense is a long lasting lip color that has a patented technology that molecularly bonds to your lips. It is used in a two part system: the LipSense color and Moisturizing Gloss.

 

Even the application is unlike any other product:

1. Make sure your lips are clean and DRY
2. Shake up that LipSense! This helps distribute the color particles for an even application.
3. With lips parted, start the LipSense applicator on one corner of your lips and slowly glide it to the other corner in one direction only. Do this for both top and bottom lip. **Important** Do not go back and forth on your lips! When you try to put it on “in windshield wiper motions” it will pick up the color – very much like a dry erase marker!
4. Make sure the first layer is completely dry and repeat [step 3] two more times.
5. Take the Glossy Gloss and put on your lips- you can go any which way with the gloss!
6. Rub your lips together and do a kissy face in the mirror 🙂

Why do my lips tingle when I put it on?

LipSense contains SD40 cosmetic grade alcohol that works to kill bacteria – it is a good thing! If your lips a chapped and dry, you will feel that tingle but after using LipSense (and your lips are healthy!) you won’t feel it anymore!

Do I need the gloss?

YES. The LipSense color and Glossy Gloss work together as a system. The gloss seals the color to your lips and acts as a barrier between the color and “outside forces”. It is also extremely moisturizing and feels oh so good on the lips! 😉

^^^This is what happens when you don’t use gloss… your lips will LITERALLY be stuck together!!^^^

Can I just put on one layer of LipSense?

No. In order for your LipSense to be long lasting, you need three layers! The gloss protects the third layer, the third layer protects the second layer and the second layer protects the first layer… (Is it just me or after looking at “layer” so much it looks like a weird word? I hate when that happens? haha)

If three layers of a specific color is just too much (too dark, too vibrant), there are specific LipSense colors (Icicle, Snow) that you can use to help tone down the color. Also, you can layer colors to create new looks. 2 LipSense colors can create up to 8 different looks!

What is this exfoliation thing?

When you start using LipSense, you can experience a period of exfoliation. This is totally normal and is basically your lips trying to shed the waxy build up from other lip products. Some people exfoliate quickly but others it can be up to a month! To help your lips along, I suggest doing a lip scrub – you can make a homemade one with coconut oil and sugar and use a tooth brush to help GENTLY scrub your lips. Can I use chapstick?

Please NO. This is one of the reasons your lips have a waxy build up and this can cause your LipSense not to last as long. I would recommend using your Glossy Gloss as often as needed – you can wear it alone at night instead of chapstick. Coconut oil is also a great chapstick alternative. My color isn’t staying on/flaking off. Help!

Here are a few things that might be going on.

1. Are you hydrated? If you aren’t drinking enough water, it could be that you are dehydrated and your lips might be suffering!
2. This is common with exfoliation – apply glossy gloss as often as needed.
3. You could be applying too thick of layers. Make sure to put thin layers and let each layer dry completely!
